I painted this foxglove from a reference photo I took at the beach last summer. It is my first entry in an EBSQ art flower-of-the-month challenge.
I love the striking purplish-pink color of the foxglove and its towering height. And here's an interesting fact: not only is it a beautiful plant; it is also the source of the heart medicine digitalis. The drug's name comes from the plant's botanical name, Digitalis purpurea.
