On a recent urban photo shoot in Portland, my friend Jenny and I met this very bouncy white boxer. He was so wiggly, I forgot to ask his owner what his name was!
But I did manage to take a picture of him. Then I played with the photo in Photoshop and Corel Painter 11 and came up with this piece of digital dog art.
I must say, creating modern digital art is more fun than I could ever have imagined!

I love what you've done with this boxer! I want to learn how to do this too!
Thanks, Sheila! I have a feeling you would have a great time with this, too!
Corel offers a free 30-day trial version of Painter 11. I am right in the middle of my trial period and am finding it to be a great way to test it out.
You're maintaining your colourful, lighthearted style beautifully in this new medium. It is fun, isn't it? And isn't the clean-up easy! Don't forget to return to watercolour often enough that you don't lose track of the fact there's no Ctrl + Z (Edit>Undo) in watercolour...
Christine, this is a really cool image! I like his blue-green eyes and nose, and the squiggly lines. I'm sure there's work to the process but it looks fun! Might be the new wave of the future... :)
Charlene, if only the Ctrl + Z option existed in watercolor, it would be so much easier!!! I love being able to undo changes with the mere click of a button :)
But don't worry. I won't let my paintbrushes get too dry!
Camille, I think you're on to something about this being the wave of the future. It will never replace traditional wet media, nor should it, but I'm predicting digital fine art is the next big step in the art world.
Christine: This is incredible! I just can't help but smile as I look at this sweet dog in the midst of a rainbow of color.
oh my gosh christine!
your digital paintings are amazing!
Aww, thank you Jan and Melissa!
